Rose Apple Pies
This dessert is very easy to make and they are very cute and fun too. Did I forget to mention that they taste amazing?
Prep time: 20 min Baking time: 25-30 mins
Yields: 2 roses
Ingredients: 2 apples; 1 pack of Puff Pastry(you can make your own if you want); any type of jam(I used raspberry); and some cinnamon; a bowl full of water; and 1 lemon
Tools: Muffin or cupcake tin; Microwave safe, Medium sized bowl
Making it:
1) Take out your puff pastry packet to defrost
2) Slice both of the Apples into really thin slices
3) Fill the bowl with water and add the lemon juice; this is so that the apples don't get brown too quickly
4) Put the apples into the bowl and put it in the microwave for about 5 minutes or until the apples get a little soft and floppy
5) Take the puff pastry and cut 2 seatbelt sized sections from the puff pastry
6) Lay out one of the 2 sections in front of you and layer that with some jam
7) Once the jam is evenly spread out sprinkle some ground cinnamon onto the jam (not too much)
8) Take an apple slice, and patt it down with a paper towel so that the apples aren't too heavy and lay it on the jam
9) Repeat this process until the top half is filled with apples, making sure the apple slices overlap each other
10) Fold over the other half of the pastry onto the apples and pat down so it doesn't unfold, make sure that you can still see the apples
11) Now here's the tricky part, take one end of the thing and start to roll into what should look something like a rose
12) Put the completed rose onto the muffin tin
13) Do exactly the same thing with the other rose, if you want you could put a different jam
14) Optional Step: you could add some egg wash on top to get a golden rose
15) Stick them in the oven for 25 minutes or until the pastry is a golden brown
16) Leave them out to cool for a couple of minutes and Enjoy!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ahh the classic romantic treat for that special someone. When I was testing this recipe I made a little too much melted chocolate so I may or may have snacked on it a little. If this happens to you when you run out of strawberries do not fall under the curse! It will be hard to escape! To avoid this, you can drop in some almonds and make chocolate almond clusters (trust me, they exist) or if you have any raspberries you can fill them with with chocolate. Truth be told, I have never actually seen a chocolate covered strawberry recipe, when I first made this I kind of guessed and went along with whatever happened next. I think I succeeded with my goal of making it look pinterest worthy.
Prep Time: 35 min Cool time: 30 min
Yields: about 20 strawberries depending on the size
Ingredients: 1/3 cup of mini marshmallows; 1 cup of chocolate ( I used Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips ); 1/3 cup of milk ( this will thin out the chocolate and make it creamier ); a box of strawberries; and a couple of chopped mint leaves
Tools: 2 pots ( one medium size, the one small, small enough to fit in the other)or use a double boiler; a wooden spoon; a non-stick baking sheet/mat
Making it:
- We are going to use the double boiler method to melt this chocolate ( This is so that the chocolate does not exceed, the temperature of 100 degrees Celsius ( 212 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Put the 1 cup of chocolate, 1/3 cup of marshmallows and the 1/3 cup of milk
- Wait for the chocolate to melt occasionally stirring so it doesn't stiffen up.
- Once most of the chocolate has melted, add the chopped mint leaves and fold them in the chocolate, they should disappear after mixing and folding the chocolate for a while
- After all of the chocolate has melted take your strawberries and wash and dry them
- Take your first strawberry and carefully dunk it in the chocolate, turn it a little to get the chocolate on all the sides
- Lay the strawberry on the mat/sheet and repeat until you run out of all your strawberries and chocolate
- Let cool for a while ( put in fridge for faster cooling process )
- Enjoy!
S'more Cookies
A beautiful twist to the Chocolate chip cookie. I went to a party yesterday with a box of these and they were the dessert of choice! Everyone loved them, they were such a big hit! Honestly I thought that the batter was actually better than the baked cookie, but that applies to a lot of cookies though right? To sum it up, these are amazing and you should definitely try them.
Prep time: 30 min Bake time: about 10-ish minutes
Yields: about 22 cookies depending on size
Ingredients: 1 cup of butter; 1 cup of white sugar; 1 cup of packed brown sugar; 2 eggs; 2 teaspoons vanilla extract; 3 cups all-purpose flour; 1 teaspoon baking soda; 2 teaspoons hot water; 1/2 teaspoons salt; 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips; 1 cup mini marshmallows; a bunch of graham crackers; 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Tools: 2 baking sheets; 1 medium sized bowl; a mixing utensil (wooden spoon, rubber spatula, hand mixer)

Making it:
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees C (350 degrees F)
- Mix together the butter and sugars (white and brown) until smooth
- Beat in the 2 eggs one at a time then add the vanilla and cinnamon
- Dissolve the baking soda in hot water and add to the batter, after that, add the salt
- Stir in the flour one cup at a time to avoid a mess along the whole kitchen
- Right now it should look a little like peanut butter, add the chocolate chips, and marshmallows one cup at a time
- Before setting the batter on the baking sheet set a graham cracker on the sheet and then place the batter on the cracker
- Put in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown
- Let cool for about 30 minutes
- Enjoy!
